My expectations of the Mythbusters exhibit was confirmed, I had a really fun time during the field trip, which I'll be going back to later next year with my 2nd graders!
What I think went extremly well during the field trip was just the exhibit in general, there were enough things for everyone to do and everyone looked like they were having a great time!
Something that I didn't think went well was lunchtime, other than having to purchase a item in order to eat inside, I think we were all a little confused on where to eat.
1. My first favorite thing about the exhibit was the table cloth pulling, although it took me a couple of tries, I finally got it in the end!
2. My second favorite thing was do you get more wet if you walk or run in the rain.
3. My third favorite thing that we did was the Live Show that we saw, it was fun Confirming or Denying the Paintball Myth.

Humor
This blog post is in response to Mrs. Kallas' post on Kallas-thenics.
I've had plenty of teachers that had made class more fun to be in, one who stood out in particular was my IPC teacher during Freshman year, who also happened to be my Chemistry teacher my Sophomore year, Mrs. Rodriguez. I happened to be a student in her homeroom class which made class TWICE as fun, we had a really small class also, and everyone got on so well which made me look forward to going to her class each day. Some things that she said that stood out is everyday when we arrived to class she would say "hey boogers", or she would just be extremely sarcastic if we walked passed her and she would say "oh I LOVE your boots", or "hey chickadee". I always looked forward to going to her class because of her sarcasm and I'm really sarcastic myself, which is something I loved about her!

Mirror, Mirror . . .
This blog post is in response to Mrs. Kallas' blog post on Kallas-thenics.
1. The event I competed in was Researching Learning Challenges, with 3 of my classmates and we researched ASD.
2. How I planned for this competition was we assigned certain parts to each person in our group, my group and I also stayed after school all last week, and we stayed on a Sunday for a couple hours to get our paper started. What I would do differently is next year, I would start earlier, and make sure I get everything done ahead of time.
3. In my opinion I think my group did great, other than our video not working I think we did really well.
4. What I learned from this experience is a lot of stuff, I feel like I've connected more with the Interns in my class through this project, I've connected with them at the T.A.F.E. competition and during class, I also learned a lot about ASD, that I didn't know before. :)
5. I would give ourselves an 80-85, because I think we did great, I think our paper went well to, I'm just anxious to see what the judges say and how we can improve.
6. What we need to improve on would have to be making sure our video works, and improving on our PowerPoint and our paper. :)

What Would You Do?
This blog post is in response to Mrs. Kallas' post What Would You Do?
I will be choosing scenario 3. In scenario 3 a intern goes to her field site and sees her mentor teacher is absent and that there is a substitute teacher, the intern sees that the students are doing just fine on their reading assignments, and the sub tells her that she has it under control, and she may leave. The intern then goes next door with her friend another intern and sits in that classroom while finishing up some homework.

If I arrived to my field site one afternoon and noticed that my mentor teacher wasn't there, but my classroom had a substitute, and the substitute told me she had everything under control and that I could leave, I would politely let her know that I was put in charge of the reading groups by my mentor teacher and that she asked me to monitor the groups. I would carry on with the students helping them out, and make sure they were on their best behavior.

How to Thrive During Your Field Experiences
This blog response is in response to Mrs.Kallas' article "How to Thrive During Your Field Experiences,"in the August/September 2014 FEA's Go Teach magazine.
Something that may make me nervous when I start going to my field sights, is trying to remember how it was for me when I was in Elementary School, I'm going to have to get down to the students heights, and really make sure that they know that I want to have a good time with them, and I want them to have a good time with me.
In the article "How to Thrive During Your Field Experiences", I think the tip that will be the easiest for me to thrive on will have to be getting to know your students. In the teaching work field, you have to make sure you know your students, and your students know you, you want your students to be able to trust you.
Out of all the rules I think the one rule I will struggle with the most is making time to reflect, because I struggle with keeping up with a journal, and writing down how my experiences went each day at my field sight. But once I start keeping up with a journal and commenting each day to write a little bit about how my day went at my field sight, I might surprise myself with what I can achieve. This will be something I'm going to need to work on.

Welcome to my blog!
Welcome to my blog, I'm Kiernan, through my blog I will be posting about my Education and Training Internship experience here at the BCTAL. Ever since I was younger I've always known I've wanted to be a third grade teacher, since my Freshman year at High School, it wasn't until recently that I wanted to major in English and teach sixth graders! I hope you enjoy my experience through this next year!
